In nearly every region – aside from the Nordic countries – average prices exceeded 120 EUR/MWh. Compared to the previous week, Romania’s average price increased by 7,3%. The highest price rose by 21,6%, while on the other end of the spectrum, the lowest recorded price soared by 182%.

Energy prices in Romania came in at an average of €130.68/MWh, placing the country in the top four across Europe. Italy led with €140,07/MWh, followed by Slovakia (€132,40/MWh) and Hungary (€131,23/MWh).

Romania’s energy prices hit €168,43/MWh, which landed us in third place in Europe. Slovakia took the top spot at €178/MWh, while Hungary came in second with €171/MWh. Looking at the numbers compared to the week before, we saw a 7,2% bump in average prices.

In the past week, Romania’s energy prices saw a notable increase of 34%, reaching €157,06/MWh, positioning the country at the forefront of the coupled market rankings. This trend was observed both on a weekly and hourly basis. The highest recorded hourly price of the week was €452,13/MWh.

Romania experienced a slight drop in prices of 4% last week, bringing our average price to €117,64/MWh – but we still managed to stay close to the regional averages. Our neighbors in Bulgaria had a price just €0,20 higher than ours, while Hungary and Greece recorded prices slightly above ours: €1,2/MWh and €2,6/MWh higher.
